‘American Idol’ Star Noah Thompson Breaks Silence About HunterGirl Dating Rumors on TikTok
After crossing paths on the ABC singing competition show, the American Idol 2022 winner and runner-up (whose real name is Hunter Wolkonowski) formed a strong bond over their shared experiences. Just like Noah promised after his memorable season 5 win, he’s been out playing shows, meeting people and writing songs. Most recently, the Kentucky native got a chance to perform with American Idol 2021 winner Chayce Beckham at the CMA Fest, and HunterGirl got up on stage too.
As it turns out, Noah and HunterGirl also hung out during their downtime. The former construction worker posted a TikTok of him acting playful, wearing her cheetah-patterned boots. The only problem was when it was time to take them off, he needed lots of help from HunterGirl herself. “I really don’t know what’s wrong with us..,” he captioned the June 11 clip.
To provide further context, HunterGirl shared a different TikTok of Noah walking around in her boots and nearly tripping. Luckily, he made a quick recovery and finished his strut around the house. According to another clip, Noah and HunterGirl reunited with fellow American Idol contestant Dan Marshall, who made it to the top 14 before being eliminated.
Unsurprisingly, seeing the American Idol stars having fun caused fans’ hearts to melt over their friendship. “I LOVE Y’ALL,” one person wrote in Noah’s TikTok comments section. “Please this is about to be the most iconic friendship 😂😭,” another added. “This made me laugh so hard,” a different fan said.
The various videos also prompted several American Idol fans to ask where Noah’s reported girlfriend, Angel Dixon, was during the music event. Viewers may remember that Noah mentioned Angel and their son, Walker, throughout the season 2022 competition.
Some folks came to his defense, and Noah seconded a few of their comments. “Why can’t a guy have a FRIEND without being accused of dating her?! 🙄 y’all they’re just having a good time, livin up this experience…chill,” a follower commented to which he replied, “Amen sista.” Someone else wrote, “I love that you two grew a friendship! ❤️❤️ my two favorites on the show 🥰.” He responded, “#besties 😂.”
Following Noah’s American Idol win in May, rumors began swirling on social media about him and Angel breaking up. The couple started dating in 2018, according to now-deleted Instagram posts. That said, they haven’t confirmed news about a split. For now, Noah and HunterGirl are only best friends.
