She arrived at the compound and knew for a fact that she had no business there. Really what was she doing here again? She knew she should do a 180 turn and just leave but before she could send the message to her legs, she was already knocking.
Bayo: Who is it?
This was another opportunity she thought all she had to do yet again was not respond and just leave but then, courage is not for the faint-hearted she told herself. She was here for a purpose and she would face him and tell him to his face.
It’s Bisi, come open the door.
He came out smiling. He was the definition of cute. His dentition, his smile always lit up the room not to talk about his dimples which had always been a thing for her.
As he hugged her, she almost forgot what had brought her. The anger she had nursed betrayed her and fizzled out. As she melted in his arms she saw herself hugging him back tightly. He caressed her and she found her hands had a will of their own as they cupped his head and held on tightly to him like her life depended on it for survival. She could not hide it, this man meant a lot to her and she also knew that she was nothing but a desperate available chick who enjoyed having him in her life.
She wished things we’re different, she wished she could be the woman she knew he wanted but, no matter how much she thought about it, she knew she was just fooling herself and nothing was going to come out of this…
As she came to this very sad conclusion she tried to leave but remembered she was yet to say what she came for….turning back she goes..

The look of shock on his face lasted less than 10 secs before he went…..

Those words she had always wanted to hear, He loved her…..as in he really did Love her…..chai…..this was all that mattered….So he did Love her and was just scared of her reaction to the truth.
She was dumb fat from it, most people described her as the most analytical and well-planned individual. She was proactive and an ideas person, her sense of judgement could be trusted at all times but all those attributes disappeared in a second. A tiny part of her brain which seems to still be working kept screaming at her to get a grip and walk out. How could you believe this rubbish her brain asked but she was far gone?..
What! With being touched like this and this words of Love declaration…..she would not have been able to explain the meaning of her name at this rate.
They made love but this one was different she thought, it was unusually intense. She figured that it was so because he finally had opened up about his Love for her and now could unleash all the Love and affection he felt. She spent the weekend, it was one of the most memorable since she met him. They spent the hours planning about the future. He spoke sweet nothings to her and after every major plan….it was sealed with another round of HOT sizzling s*x.
The weekend was over and they made arrangements to meet the following week, he had promised they would go meet his Family who had heard so much about her but we’re not sure she would accept him. The week was so slow and it took forever for the weekend to come….
Finally the weekend, she spoke to Bayo in the morning to say she would be around by noon, he told her how eager he was waiting for her arrival, but had to quickly get to the office….advised her make it late afternoon.
His number is saying unreachable and she had been knocking on his door for over 20mins before a neighbour who happened to drive in informed her that Bayo travelled that afternoon to reunite with his Family abroad. In fact, he drove him to the airport.
Men are scum had a new ring to her ears….If only she could make her feet move….If only she could hold back the shock and tears just for a few mins…..Till date she has no idea how she walked out from that compound or how she got home….It all seems like a dream, the only difference is the baby bump growing bigger everyday reminding her of how she life had dealt with her……
How Bayo destroyed what was left of her self esteem…..How she was the epitome of Stupidity. Now when she hears Men are Scum…..she just adds a little more adjective to qualify the extent of this “Scum” life.

Sadly, some men act as though they don’t have sisters or would not have female children, while some are just self centered(sell – fish). Truth be told, not all men are “Scum”. am not one either.

Hmmmm, men are not scum, this particular guy is because he scammed her but she’s more of a scum by scamming herself by dumping her brains when she needed if most.
Dear Adams, thanks for the comment. I think that for women especially those who are not yet comfortable in their own skin and looking very desperately for validation, they are more susceptible to such incidents.

Well there is a little bit of her in everyone of us, in the sense that a whole lot of time we are selective with reality, we chose what we want to believe and consciously ignore or surpress other parts of the truth/reality.

She should have listened to herself ,the man worked on her brain and use her because she was free and available ,the look of the man dragged her into a woes,one day the dead and the living will meet,the guy will sure pay for his misdeed,take heart Sister you will find love again though difficult ,God will avenge,trust him you will be fine.
I think the writer is deranged to think that men are scum….she is probably writing about her own story or how she sees the world…i bet she is unable to hold down a relationship herself…soon enough she will grow depressive and i think her inability to have a good relationship is making her feel insecure. Of course there is no perfect system…so clearly there are bad people…and they can be male or female…but that does not mean that anyone is a scum….she needs to think deal and solve her insecurity issues and stop blaming the world…men for her inability to actualise her sense of Idealism…which hardly exist…Be real…and you will find peace…
Mr Ayo…you do not need to abuse the writer..this is a work of fiction but sadly many women are in this same kind of predicament….it does not mean ALL men are scum….its just an article that should provoke deep thinking and help someone make a change in that relationship that they probably shouldn’t be in. So please…refrain from using abusive words
