Love is pain – Machine Gun Kelly reveals Megan Fox’s $340K engagement ring has thorns in the band and ‘if she tries to take it off it hurts’
Machine Gun Kelly has revealed that the $340,000 almond-shaped emerald and diamond engagement ring that he proposed to Megan Fox with in Puerto Rico has real-life thorns inside it.
‘The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts,’ he told Vogue, explaining: ‘Love is pain!’
Kelly, 31, and Megan, 35, announced their engagement last week and sealed the event by drinking each other’s blood after his dramatic proposal.
In the interview with Vogue, he shared that the emerald gem is ‘a thoroughbred Colombian emerald, with no treatment’.
The 6-carat ring, which he says he ‘designed alongside Stephen Webster’ is a combination of her birthstone and his birthstone.
“It was just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine, and the diamond was directly from Stephen. The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings”.
Demonstrating, he said: ‘When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart.’
Megan’s birthstone is the emerald, a symbol of rebirth whilst his birthstone is the diamond, which holds a significant meaning that is thought to provide the wearer with better relationships and an increase in inner strength.
“I designed [the ring] with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birthstone) and the diamond (my birthstone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love”.
The couple started back in May 2020 after Fox split from ex-husband, Actor Brian Austin Green.
Kelly has never been married before but does co-parent a 12-year-old daughter called Casie with his ex-girlfriend Emma Cannon. As for Megan, she shares three sons of her own – Noah, nine, Bodhi, seven, and Journey, five – with her sizzling ex-husband Brian Austin Green.
