Editor’s note:

Dear readers, please note that the story’s narrator is not that proficient in English Language, as English is only a second language to her. So the story was knocked into shape by one of the Lively Stones editor; ‘Chyko’, but in such a way that no harm whatsoever was done to the originality of the story.

Part 1:

Hello Lively Stones,

I honestly didn’t know where to tell this my bitter story, and seek for advice from the readers, until a friend of mine introduced me to this amazing romance blog. And also shared me the link to one of the stories that have already been told on the blog titled:
“My parents begged me to give them a son.”

And truth be told, when l finished reading that particular story, l felt like Amanda ( the girl in the story) just told part of my story in her own bitter story. Cus we have a lot in common; we both grew up outside Nigeria, both of our fathers died before our problems started, and come to think of it, both of our problems was as a result of the outdated, barbaric and evil customs of our people.

But in Amanda’s case, her parents begged her to give them a son due to that barbaric ‘male child syndrome’ of the Igbos, while in my own case, my mom f*cked my boyfriend. And used the same barbaric custom as an excuse. And the most annoying thing was that they all labelled me a wayward girl. I was the kind of girl who was always getting into trouble. I never seemed to know how to do anything right. I started smoking when l was only fourteen.

And my parents had to be severally invited to the school in Germany because of my wayward behavior. But eventually, when l decided to turn a new leaf, study hard, marry and settle down with the man of my dreams, mom had to come from behind and get pregnant for my boyfriend And she even had the temerity to tell me that she did it to secure my father’s inheritance! What nonsense!

Infact, l never wanted to come back to Nigeria! I never wanted to have anything to do with Africa! I was okay in Germany where l was born. But when my dad died, l was told that we were only going home for his burial. And that afterwards we would all come come back to Germany. Then, we arrived in Nigeria and after my dad was buried; Mom came up with this thing about fighting to secure my father’s name and inheritance for us girls!

My name is lmelda. My father is from Okposi in Ebonyi state. I was born and raised in Born, Germany. My father was a medical doctor before he died. My mom is still a nurse. Dad was diabetic and he always managed it carefully. But in the first week of January of 2021, he collapsed in his operating theatre and never got up. His colleagues told us that his blood insulin was low. He went into Coma and four days later, they told us that he was brain dead and he was vegetable. Even though he was not completely dead, he was never to live again.

My mom signed some documents and the machines were turned off; he was given euthanasia (mercy killing). I was barely 20 when l arrived Nigeria for the first time l was born in Easter of 2021, for my dad’s burial. Apart from the heat, the dirt, the lack of electricity and most shocking of all; the Okadas meandering through traffic at breakneck speed without helmets like they all had a death wish, the thing l found most intolerable was people coming to live in the house with us uninvited, all in the name of being relatives!

Truth be told, they can be really helpful in getting things done. And they are all so polite. But then, who needs all that?

The whole village was in our house crying their hearts out the day my father was buried. But my mom complained bitterly that my father’s brothers stole all the money he sent them to build a house for him in the village and only put together a makeshift structure for him to cover their shame.

The only other properties that my parents bought in Nigeria, while they were abroad were a house in Lekki and a filling station in Ikeja. It was even my mother that persuaded my father to use a lawyer to buy both properties in her maiden name. And to employ a team of accountants to manage both properties on their behalf. Rather than use relatives to buy and manage the properties like my father had wanted to do.

My mom is from Owerri in lmo state and l was to realize that women from her place are known for their Smartness, hard-nosed business sense and strong fighting spirit.
Few months after my dad’s burial, his relatives came to tell us to vacate from our house in Lekki, and hand over the filling station to them. Their reason was that my mother had no male child for their brother, and thus, l and my two sisters being female, had no rights to any inheritance!

My mother went to court, and after just a very short court sitting, we won the case and retained both the Lekki mansion and the filling station. But my father’s relatives were not giving up the fight so easily. They summoned my mother to a village meeting, and insisted that the case be tried traditionally, but my mother refused to go. Then the eldest of my father’s sibling named Obiora, swore that unless my mom’s feet did not touch Okposi land again, he must surely kill her with diabolical means!

A short while later, a man came to our house from the US. And my mom introduced him to us as yet another of my Father’s brothers! She called him Ferdinand and from the moment we picked him up from the airport, they seemed unable to get their hands off each other.
Later that night, l wanted to get my powder puff from my mom who was always using my cosmetics. But when l got to their room, l found out that the door was locked; my mother never did that before.

I was about to turn around and leave the room when l heard some strange noises from within. Seized with curiosity, l went back to peeps through the keyhole. But l couldn’t see anything. So l went outside the compound and walked round to the window and peeped into my mother’s room.

They were both stark naked and this man Ferdinand had my mother bent over the arm of a couch in her room. She had her rump undulated backwards for him and he was going at her from behind like a dog at a bitch! The strange sounds l was hearing was my mother moaning deliriously in the throes of intense S** and the Ferdinand’s groin slapping viciously against her rather fleshly haunches.

I watched as he went at her endlessly until she was almost croaking before he finally lunged at her with all his might and quaked as his ejaculation wracked his frame. He then collapsed on the bed. My mum went to fetch a towel from the cloth rack, and came near the window. I didn’t flinch a bit as our eyes met and locked for a full second. She didn’t even break the conversation she was having with him as she blinked hard at me and turned her back at me, covering herself with the towel.

Even when l slammed the window and walked away, l heard her telling her lover to relax, that it was the wind!

To be continued……..
